Live Like A Puppy – Feel Great

Live Like Princess Puppy
I do believe that dear Poppy has greater emotional and literal intelligence than most human beings….and all the dog owners out there know what I mean here… this is the regime she employs to keep her figure:

1. She employs INTERMITTENT FASTING, somedays she eats masses, somedays not much at all.

2. Poppy always drinks her water, all day long.

3. Poppy doesn’t eat sweet things, processed food, trans fats or anything rubbish – just high class OPTIMUM NUTRITION dog food.

4. Oddly for a dog, she loves fish! A bit of smoked salmon goes down very well 🙂

5. She rests, lols around and sleeps most of the day in the comfiest spot in the house – some posh furry cushions ON MY BED!

6. She takes formal exercise 3 times a day and is always gagging for it, if I just mention the word OUT and she’s on my heels til we head out.

7. When on the lead, she heads off at a pace, employing the POWER WALKING STRATEGY.

8. When released from her lead she bombs around the park for 20 mins employing the HIGH INTENSITY INTERVAL TRAINING STRATEGY.

9. Nevermind 8 hours sleep, I’m sure she’s on more like 14! Truly and obviously obeying her CIRCADIAN RYTHMNS!

10. She is friendly, outgoing, extremely good natured and likes EVERYONE! She therefore is welcomed everywhere she goes and is always treated well by humans and her other doggy pals – OBVIOUSLY HAS VERY GOOD SELF-ESTEEM.

11. She is never angry, growly or bitey…..unless you are the postman…..what is that?

12. She has high emotional intelligence ie., shifts very quickly when I start swearing and stays very very close when I cry.

13. She only gets stressed when little children are around…she is scared of them for some reason! If they are in the park when she arrives, she turns around to leave. A perfect demonstration of knowing what’s good for her and walking away from things that aren’t. I BET HER CORTISOL ISN’T VERY HIGH!

14. She accepts all kind words and deeds offered graciously – tail wags when you praise her and you could easily get a numb arm just sitting there rubbing her belly for over an hour 🙂 SHE OBVIOUSLY HAS HIGH SELF-WORTH!

15. Finally, she hates going in the car!!!! Just pure organic walking for this simple girl.

Hhmmmm….so back to the title, don’t you agree – EAT, REST AND LIVE like Poppy and we’ve got it licked!


Simply learn from your Dog! – obviously if you over feed and under exercise your dog, if it feels unloved and is stressed it’s probably overweight (like you.)


Simple Exercise Rules

Simple keys to exercising properly

1. Start now. Get moving; do some exercise and do it right away.
How long will you wait for your transformation to begin?
This week? This month? Decide NOW or you’ll be reading this again next year!

2. Mix it up. Mix calorie-burning exercise (“cardio”) with muscle-preserving exercise (weight training).
My clients get a mixture of metabolic cardio and resistance training every session!
You should too! You must get out of breath, your muscles must fatigue and ache, and you should long for your next very short break!

3. Build up to 5 hours (slowly). Gradually work your way up to 5 hours of total exercise per week.
That’s less than 45 minutes of activity a day!
You can aim for your 10,000 steps a day or
Choose a 30 minute HIIT session.
Any activity will get you closer to your fat loss target.

4. Progressive overload. Track what you do, and challenge yourself to do a little more, or a little better, every day”
Don’t stick with the same exercises, the same weights routine or the same weekly routines.
Your body adapts in just a couple of weeks – don’t waste your workout time! PROGRESS!

5. As long as you do those 4 things, you’ll lose fat quickly and for good. You’ll build some strong, shapely muscles too. You’ll be able to eat more without regaining body fat. You’ll have more energy, feel great and look fabulous.

For Fat Loss You Need To Exercise…


Yes, exercise, physical activity, get your body moving…

What advice should you give to your friends and family?

Whatever you call it, it should be part of a healthier lifestyle.

1. Exercise does wonders, not only for weight loss, but for ALL sorts of things in your body.

You have a release of good, positive, mood enhancing hormones…

You reduce the “bad” things in your body (like inflammation, LDL cholesterol, stress, FAT, etc.)…

And you gain hood posture, strength and a better shape while you’re doing it!

In the long run, exercise burns calories, strengthens your bones, and may even give stability to your joints.

If they are serious about losing weight, then exercise will be a key to helping them develop a healthier lifestyle and boosting weight loss.

2. You Need to Reduce STRESS…


Times have changed since the beginning of time, since the cavemen were around, or even your grandparent’s time.

Society today is always in a rush…

Deadlines, busy family and work schedules, and traffic commutes consume our lives now.

You may go a little faster to get to work to avoid being late…

You may rush all over town, running kids, friends, and family to appointments, games, etc…

And what does this add up to?


And this can be a deal killer when it comes to weight loss!

Stress does nothing but increase cortisol levels, which makes storing nutrients as FAT – so much easier!

So you can tell your friends: slow down! Enjoy life a little!

The more stress you possess, the less successful you’ll be in losing weight – and keeping it off!

3. You Need to Sleep More…

This one goes hand-in-hand with the tip above.

With schedules, demands, and other things ruling your life, there is less time for activities that you may enjoy – namely sleep!

You get up earlier…

You go to bed later…

Or you have so much stress that it disrupts your sleep!

Sleep is vitally important to everyone – but more so when you are trying to lose weight.

Losing sleep not only puts you in a fog for the rest of the day, but it raises ghrelin – a potent stimulator of your appetite – which may make you crave high-carbohydrate, nutrient-dense, junk food.

And that spells trouble for your FAT LOSS!


4. Give Yourself a Break…

You need to tell them not to be so hard on themselves if they miss a day, miss a weigh-in, or have that food that they know they shouldn’t have.

They are only human, and frankly, people make mistakes!

Instead of slamming themselves and ruining their progress, they need to reward themselves for a job well done.

Maybe they made it all week before they had that certain food…

Or maybe they exercised three days a week, if they never exercised before…

Whatever they find positive, may do wonders for their confidence, motivation, desire, and most of all, their RESULTS!

The Great Weight-Loss Mystery

So you see, weight loss is really no mystery at all!

If you tell people these things above, then chances are they may be more successful at losing FAT – and keeping it off.

Now, these are just tips – rules if you will – that may encourage weight loss, better overall results, and may lead to a healthier lifestyle.

But of course, there are a few others things that will guarantee fat loss and help keep it off…

Fat Loss Tip #10

10. Get Active
Nearly everyone who lost over 50 pounds added in some form of physical activity. Even if it was just a little bit, the fact that they were more active helped them lose the weight. The trick is to find an activity you enjoy. Not everyone likes the same exercise. Find an activity you love to do, and then push yourself out of your comfort zone. Get comfortable with being uncomfortable.
